Sense Of Urgency: How To Get Beyond Your Stuck-State and Achieve Your Goals In 5-10x Faster – Part 1

By on Sep 7, 2015 in Entrepreneurship, Mindset Hacks, Productivity | 0 comments

Without a sense of urgency desire loses its value. Jim Rohn This is a 2 part series because I consider sense of urgency to be a cornerstone of success. Perhaps you’ve done lots to improve yourself, maybe you’ve worked on your beliefs, your goals, your values, or worked through some other area of your life.  Your life is still stagnating and you get seem to get beyond being unstuck. If only there was a much simpler way that would get you unstuck and allow you to move your life forward faster and quicker then before?  Well you’re right…there is. The most successful people have issues in their own life as well.  There lives are not perfect either.  However, despite them having issues, they operate with a sense of urgency that overcomes their issues.  By moving forward with a sense of urgency, they don’t get stuck on the pressing issues and they move forward with purpose and tenacity.  They know that there’s no time to make excuses, that it’s better to move forward with a sense of urgency. It’s this sense of urgency that you’re missing in your life.  You simply have no urgency to get things done, to achieve your goals, and go after your dreams with purpose, determination, and belief.  It’s a cycle, because by operating slowly, results come slow, belief comes slow, and everything moving at a snails pace until there’s a point where you can’t handle it anymore.  If only you could have a spark under to get you on your purpose and achieve goals rapidly.  There’s no excuses with your past, we all have patterns that continually repeat itself over and over again.  Well now it’s going to be different.  With this one habit of sense of urgency, you will transform your life and your business. There’s two ways a sense of urgency is forced upon us.  One way is by external events, people and circumstances.  For example, you have rent due next month and without rent you’ll be homeless.  Or it could be health reasons, for me having colon cancer was a wakeup signal and create a sense of urgency to get my health into peak state. The other way is internally.  Maybe you want to achieve a charity goal of helping cure cancer, like our Greenhouse Superfoods is out to do.  This internal drive creates a sense of urgency to improve the world, leave a mark, and create lasting change that will impact lives forever. How you get your source of sense of urgency is up to you.  Maybe it’s spending time around people that raise you up and inspire you to be your best self.  Maybe it’s going to fancy car dealerships, seeing nice homes for sale that you would love, being around people that have a purpose in their life, or you’re just plain pissed about how you’ve been living your life, and want more in life!  As long as it creates a strong desire to attack your goals with purpose and get things done as effectively and efficiently as possible. In part 2 of this sense of urgency post, I’ll describe how to get this habit and soon you’ll have the life you’ve dreamed of.  For now, just continue to develop the awareness and get to a point where you have so much sense of urgency that operating at your typical daily speeds makes you upset.  We’ll soon channel that into powerful forward setting intentions 🙂   Have any input, comments, or suggestions?  I would love to hear them.     If you liked this post, subscribe to this blog and I’ll be sending you more cool blog posts just like this one. The Secret Behind Psycho-Cybernetics (and how you can apply it too)

By on Aug 10, 2015 in Mindset Hacks | 0 comments

Look around you.  Your clothes, your home, your career…everything you have in your life started out as a single thought. The biggest secret of all mental secrets, however is NOT the law of attraction. The most powerful attractor of all is something called your self-image. This is different from law of attraction because all your mental pictures, thoughts, and feelings cannot defeat it. Your self-image, good or bad, is what sets the level of your success. If you see yourself as a success, you’ll become one.  If you see yourself as a failure you will continue to fail. The mental picture you have of yourself is what defines you as a person. The good news is that this belief can be changed. It’s called the Theatre of the Mind. Motivational and self-help experts in personal development, including Zig Ziglar, Tony Robbins, Brian Tracy have based their techniques on this concept from Maxwell Maltz. As you consistently rehearse your mental movie in vivid detail and emotion, you’ll find yourself eventually living those moments in reality, if done correctly. This is the secret of Psycho-Cybernetics.   Every morning play a mental movie of your new self-image, and you’re raised self-image will start to appear.   Here’s how:   Step 1. Write out a brief description of the mental movie you intend to construct, experiment with, and develop in the view of the mind. Step 2. Set aside 15 minutes a day, at the same time everyday, relax, close your eyes, enter your theatre and begin playing, editing and replaying your movie. Make the images as vivid and detailed as possible. Approximate actual experiences as much as possible. Do this by paying attention to small details (sights, sounds, objects in your imaginative environment). Details are important because you’re creating a practiced experience. See yourself acting, feeling, being as you want to be. This builds a new image of self. Visualize these things in the theatre of your mind. Project everything on the screen in an exciting, moving way, like the best movie you’ve ever been to. That creates a strong emotion around them. Then tell yourself, “I want to” — then get off your couch and make it happen. Step 3. Gradually massage your movie so that its star (you) performs exactly as you desire, and achieves the experience and results you desire (strive to arrive at this point within the first 10 days). Step 4. For the remaining 11 days, play and enjoy that movie without change. As you watch this future success movie, recall and re-experience the “winning feeling” from the previous movie. As you watch yourself doing something successfully that you intensely wish to accomplish in real time, expand the “winning feeling” from the previous movie. In fact, expand it many times over! Remember, the unconscious mind delivers results much more rapidly when the request is imbued with powerful emotion. So let your mind “cut and paste” the “winning feeling” into your mental movie of future success. By thinking about a past success and intensifying that feeling, you’ll draw your future vision into your world.     Have you applied this secret self-image daily practice? I’d love to hear about your results!   If you liked this post, subscribe to this blog and I’ll be sending you more cool blog posts just like this one. Experience Your Ultimate Potential By Using The 5 Second Rule

By on Apr 20, 2015 in Lifestyle Design, Mindset Hacks, Productivity | 0 comments

Getting what you want is simple – but not easy.  It takes force. Watch this video: Today there’s more information then ever before.  You can go find information on how to do anything.  Start a business, learn a skill, build a house…pretty much anything can be found online.  You can find lots of blogs and model the exact person you want to emulate. Find someone you want to become, study them, become them. It’s simple – but not easy. In the video, Mel Robbins says we have two parts to our brain.  One is the Auto-Pilot mode, and the other is the Emergency Brake. Our brain wants to keep us on track.  It wants to conserve energy.  If there’s danger, it wants to have energy available in store to save us.  Our job, our friends, our home, our habits, our health…everything is kept in check by our brain wanting to keep us in routine.  If there’s sign of getting us out of routine, our brain puts on the emergency brake and keeps us in check. It’s the routine that’s killing us. People say “I’m Fine” to everything.  Their job is Fine, their body is Fine, their home is Fine, everything is just Fine.  The thing is, everything you really want in life, is just outside your comfort zone.  That girl you want to meet, that business you want to start, that vacation you want to take…the juice of requires you to push beyond your comfort zone (or as Mel say ‘Force’ yourself). How many times have you heard champion athletes, business people, celebrities and others saying they felt fear, but did it anyway.  This is the point you need to be at. You have things you want, so you need to act on your intuition. Mel Robbins, employs this by giving the 5 SECOND RULE.   5 Second Rule   To get past your feelings, and get on track to achieving your dreams, whenever you have an intuition to do something, do it within 5 seconds.  If you don’t do it within 5 seconds, your brain will turn the emergency brake on and kill the impulse. You’ll then not take action, and you wont get what you want.  You’ll be wasting your life away, being complacent, likely living for the weekends drinking and escaping life, rather then living what’s inside of you. Therefore, practice the 5 second rule by FORCING yourself to take action within 5 seconds, no matter what it is, and after doing so you’ll undoubtedly feel amazing by doing so. When you get in the habit of forcing yourself to act within 5 seconds, you’ll addicted to being living to your intuition, and then life will be in synchronicity, and amazing things will start showing up as it was magic…but you’ll have to consistently act within 5 seconds otherwise your brain will pull the emergency brake, and you’ll kill the impulses of your unique life. Go an impulse to do something now?  Go do it! 🙂   If you liked this post, subscribe to this blog and I’ll be sending you more cool blog posts just like this one. 3 Steps To Bouncing Back From Setbacks

By on Apr 6, 2015 in Gratitude, Mindset Hacks | 0 comments

Recently while traveling, my laptop unexpectedly died.  Suddenly my productivity totally dropped, and things started to pile up.It was a vicious cycle. It seemed like nothing was going my way. I am very dependant on my computer to run my businesses, and right now I’m in a startup stage with two new businesses.  So the timing couldn’t be worse.  Add to that, the price to fix the laptop is equal to a 2nd hand car here, so it’s not the best thing to happen. So here’s the 3 steps I learnt to getting over setbacks:   1.  Be Grateful   For all the setbacks we have, think about how lucky you are to have the life you have.  For me, I’m in Bali…the weather is amazing, people have a great energy, food is delicious, etc. Even though my primary way to operate my business is taken away, many people will love to have the life I have. If possible, quantify the setback, and know you can make it back quickly. Recognize all the great things you have in your life. On the grand scheme, it’s likely a very minor thing, so don’t get caught up on it. Remember to smile 🙂 2. Forward-Looking Intentions   Instead of circling in the pity of your setback and becoming a victim, set your intentions on looking forward.  Don’t dwell on the past. Regain control and make a list of the things you can learn and apply so it doesn’t happen in the future. Learn the power of expecting, and expect great things to come into your life very soon. Even if you can’t how they’ll happen, trust that great stuff is coming your way. Know that setbacks happen to everyone, and that it happened for a reason to make you stronger and rise above. Champions fall, and bounce back stronger. Believe something good is going to happen, and you’ll attract good things. Focus on getting control of yourself, don’t get consumed by pointless social media browsing. Be resourceful.  Who can you contact to help you move forward?   3. Take Action   Now that you’ve reprogrammed your mind, it’s time to take action.  If you’re consistently playing things in your mind, but not taking any action, you want see any tangible results. Conversely, once you take action, you’ll start to build momentum.  At first it’ll be hard to take action, but you’ll very soon start to see results, and once you see some results, you’ll reinforce your belief, thereby taking more action.  Get around other people that are inspiring and you can connect with. Go to the gym and blast out a great workout. Do you have something that worked for you?  I’d love to hear it.  Post your comments below. 2 Life Lessons I Learned From a Wealthy Hotel Investor

By on Mar 22, 2015 in Mindset Hacks, Productivity | 0 comments

Recently I had business meeting with a guy who owns 8 hotels.  If he were to walk by you on the street you would have no idea. Until you talk to him….he had a certain poise and conviction in his voice. He articulated his response emphasizing his words with subtle hand gestures, reaffirming his message.  His words had wisdom and sense of belief. We got talking about his past and wrote drove him to build so much wealth. (I’ll tell you his reasons, and then give you the 2 lessons after)   His reasons, were because he never wanted to be poor and the freedom the wealth gave him. He said he could pickup his phone and travel anywhere in the world, knowing he had a top notch team handling everything.  Simple yet profound reasons. But digging further, he was more interested in sharing his 2 lessons someone needed to reach his position.   1. Hard Work   We hear it all the time…work hard, work hard, work hard.  But what does this really mean? And then it finally clicked. Working loooong hours is working hard.  But are you doing the HARD and difficult work? Successful people have a habit of doing the Hard Work.  This is the crap you don’t want to do.  You know the stuff, you have it everyday.  But instead of doing the hard work, you do tons of the easy work…and by working long hours you think you’re getting shit done, but ultimately you’re doing a bunch of stuff that has little impact. Takeaway:  You only have so much willpower in your day, so get in the habit of doing the ‘hard work’ as early as possible when you have the highest willpower.  By doing so, you’ll get the important stuff done when you have the most energy, and then once you’re done, you’ll get even more momentum because you’ve accomplished the difficult tasks.  That’s doing Hard Work.   2. The People You Mix With    It’s often said that you are the average sum of the 5 closest people around you. For this guy, he surrounded himself with awesome people.  People that could get shit done.  People he could trust.  People that were better then him. He became the guy who put the talent together, and they took over from there. Get serious about who you hang with. For me, I created a contact list in my phone of my TOP 5.  These are people that I want to associate with. After regularly contacting the Top 5, I’ve been able to forge new business relationships, get access to lifestyle luxuries, and elevate my game to the next level. Takeaway:  You are the average sum of the 5 closest people around you.  Be proactive about spending time with people who are making tons of money, living the lifestyle you want, or any other goals you desire.  By regularly contacting them, you’ll eventually find a shared interest, and soon you’ll be operating their level. BOOM!  There you have it.  2 awesome lessons from a wealthy hotel investor. Go take action and rock it to the next level! The Secret Tool I Used To Survive Burning Man

By on Mar 16, 2015 in Mindset Hacks |

Burning Man tests people on all levels.  The conditions are so extreme that at some point you will be tested both physically and mentally.  During the day it gets extremely hot, and at night it gets very cold (even though it’s in the middle of the desert). Aside from the weather, the music, art cars, and theme camps are blasting with music, cheering, laughter, and other background noise. All this commotion can literally go 24×7 for as long as the event – and it progressively gets more intense. If you want to survive and thrive the whole event, you must get adequate rest and relaxation. Thankfully, just before I left, a good friend gave me a tool that would greatly improve my burning man experience (and other times I need to get recharged). What is this secret tool? It’s called the Energizer Nap.  It’s an audio track that’s scientifically engineered to put you to sleep and then wake you up to a calm and alert state, using powerful binaural tones. The science behind the energizing nap, is it uses a series of binaural brainwave frequencies, instructed by a person’s voice, and combined with soothing ambient sounds to create the perfect power nap. The audio’s come in 3 versions (10 minute, 15 minute, and 20 minute), but I’ve found the 15 minute version to be the best.  Listening to the 15 minute audio, I felt like it was the equivalent of an hour or more rest. While others at Burning Man were trying to get hours of rest, I was listening to the Energizer Nap audios, getting highly focused power naps in a fraction of the time…resting my mind and recharging my body. I’ve since been listening to this audio whenever I need a power nap. It’s a power nap game changer! For your pleasure, I have uploaded the track here so you can use it. Download Here (Right Click and Save Link As) Get ready for the most rewarding power naps you’ve every had!
